Strengthening the Board

The Tranmere Rovers Supporters Trust, (Trust) is a Community Benefit Society which represents and campaigns on behalf of Tranmere Rovers supporters on issues decided by its members at the AGM and/or by the Trust Board.  The Trust also maintain channels of communication with the directors and management of Tranmere Rovers Football Club (“the Club”) and organises high quality services for the Trust’s members as well as other community-based activities to support the Club and residents of the local area.

The Trust also manages the Trust Fan Park (Marquee) situated in the Club car park as an added value match day hospitality facility for the fans (home and visiting). 

The Trust have been working on a project, supported and part funded by the fans, to deliver an upgraded and larger fan park which is currently under construction, that will significantly enhance the match day experience for fans and enable the Trust to generate increased revenue from the operation of the facility for the benefit of the Trust and the Club.  The new fan park will also provide a facility which can potentially be utilised for community-based activities and other non-match day events.

With this background, the Trust are seeking to strengthen its governance by seeking to co-opt up to 5 additional directors to add to the diversity and depth of expertise on its board.

Candidates with experience and expertise in the following areas would be particularly welcome:

  • Strategic business partnership development and management
  • Hospitality, catering, food and beverage sector
  • Marketing, and communications, including media relations, (ability to maximise existing and new fundraising channels and opportunities)
  • Event management and delivery
  • Legal, commercial contract law
  • Brand management and/or retail merchandising
  • Charitable/Not for Profit business management

 

The Trust would be particularly interested in candidates with board level and/or senior management experience.

Candidates will also be expected to confirm their commitment to the purpose and Objects of the Trust and the absence of any conflicts of interest and are not required to be members of the Trust.

The roles are non-remunerated, and candidates will be expected to allocate a minimum of 12 days per annum (including a number of in person meetings) in executing their duties.
