There is understandably a lot of frustration and anger following the EFL debacle and our initial statement reflects a shared disbelief in the double standards and lack of integrity shown by the them as an organisation. We note that the club are now considering their options and as supporters we will all obviously monitor that situation closely.
Whilst we hope for a successful outcome to any action taken we realise that contract negotiations and squad rebuilding will also be taking place. As we are currently scheduled to play in League Two it is paramount that we’re best equipped to fight back on the pitch as well as off it.
So after communication with the club and a consultation between the committees of the TROSC, Trust and Southern SWA we are calling on supporters to unite in channelling their complete focus towards helping Tranmere Rovers achieve immediate promotion. Nothing would show our strength and defiance better than rolling our sleeves up and attacking League Two.
During the lockdown the club have suffered an obvious shortfall in income and as we now find ourselves a division lower we must also consider the financial implications of that. As such the task of planning for next season, as we still await a start date for 20/21 and details of access to matches, is more difficult than ever. The initial loss alone is estimated at £1million. This leaves the supporters as the source of hope. In recognition of this we have spoken to the club and together we would like to pay tribute to everyone that financially backs the fight back by purchasing a 20/21 season ticket.
We are proud to therefore share that the name of every season ticket holder will be clearly displayed at the stadium next season. Those names will also feature on a new banner in the Kop, so your support is recognised and acknowledged both inside and outside of Prenton Park.
We completely understand that purchasing a Season Ticket may not be easy during these difficult times. With the early bird discount extended until the end of June and adult tickets available from £30 a month the club have made it as affordable as possible. With player contracts being discussed and transfer targets considered we feel this is the best way to ensure we’re in the strongest possible position to win promotion for the third consecutive full season.
Our support has been incredible in recent years when serious challenges have faced us. Nothing will shake our togetherness, passion and desire to right this wrong. League One, we’re already on our way back.
Let’s back our club when they need us most. Where there is faith, there is light and strength.
