Fan Park 2
Over recent years, our current Fan Park at Prenton Park has been a great success; welcoming home supporters, away supporters and people who live in our local community. Although our current Fan Park is popular with fans, the main problem is that the current structure is a marquee and is now coming to the end of its structural life.
Over the past twelve to eighteen months, we have been looking at the possibility of replacing our current marquee, with a permanent structure located within the grounds of Prenton Park. Not only will the venue have the potential to open on none matchdays and for function hire, the new structure will also provide a space for local organisation and community activities.
The prospect of a new Fan Park will enable us to continue to raise significant funds for the Tranmere Rovers Trust and subsequently, the football club, so that we can continue to support Club and community projects. We hope that a new Fan Park will help to assist making Tranmere Rovers a top league one club, being able to challenge for promotion to the Championship.
Moving away from the current marquee structure, the new structure will be built from timber and glass and will be pre-constructed, shipped direct from Europe. This will enable the structure to be erected in a fairly short period of time. We are aiming to team up with German Kraft, who currently have outlets in London.
The beers that will be supplied and sold will be brewed on the premises, so will be as fresh as possible. We are also looking to keep our links with local breweries like Brimstage Brewery and other food and drink outlets nearby.
Depending on legal documents being finalised and the plans being approved by Wirral Borough Council, the new Fan Park could be ready as early as October 2021.
The Trust held an open day for members, supporters and members of the neighbouring community on Saturday 15th May. The event was very well attended by fans and local residents, as well as members of the Trust Board and proposed partners German Kraft Brewery, to discuss our plans for the next Fan Park.
