Pitch-side Screening of England’s World Cup Semi-Final at Prenton Park.
In recognition of the enormous interest there is in England’s World Cup Semi-Final game on Wednesday, Tranmere Rovers, in conjunction with Wirral Borough Council, are delighted to have been able to arrange to show the match on a huge pitch-side 7m x 7m LED screen.
Chairman Mark Palios said:
“It is 28 years since England were last in a World Cup semi-final, a feat they had achieved only once since winning the Cup in 1966 prior to this year’s tournament. The North West is a hotbed of football and it seemed right to give people in the Wirral community an opportunity to watch such a critical game at the home of Wirral football. It’s a great opportunity to make some memories that will last a lifetime.”
The screen will be placed in front of the Kop stand, so approximately 5,000 spectators will be able to watch the match from the comfort of a seat. Food and drink will be available throughout the evening, and viewers will be able to eat and drink from their seats (no drinks will be allowed in from outside of the stadium).
Gates will open from 17.00 to allow viewers to watch the pre-match build up, and will close by 22.30pm.
Parking will be free but there will be a £2 entrance fee to watch the game (flat price – no concessions).
We have a limited number of wheelchair bays available so recommend that these are pre-booked through the Tranmere ticket office. In view of the short time available, we are not taking pre-bookings for the other seats so it will be first come first served, with entrance by cash on the turnstiles.
We would like to thank Wirral Borough Council for their support and for working with us to enable us to stage this event at short notice.
