Trust Newsletter May 2016

Dear Member,

Message from the Trust Chairman.

"The season in the end was a disappointing one with the club just failing to make the play-off.
All fans can see the progress being made off the pitch and at least this close season we have the basis of a better squad than this time last year.

We as a trust are 100% behind what Mark & Nicola are trying to achieve at Tranmere Rovers and believe we will be pushing for promotion next season.

We continue to work together with the club on a number of initiatives such as

1. Season Tickets 16/17
We made valuable input into the proposals/prices for next season. The fans have stuck brilliantly behind the club and if we continue to do so we will return to the football league.

2.SWA2
The trust will be making a financial committment again next season to this worthwhile project from 500 club monies. We will assist with the raising of other monies towards the £20k target. As well aa giving kids the experience of watching the match, who otherwise couldnt afford to, this is also going to help build the fanbase for the next 5/10 years, something that has been neglected in the past.

3. Supporters Groups liason
Positive discussions have taken place with the Supporters Club and the Disabled Supporters Association on ways in which we can work together in the future.

We continue to raise monies through events which will go towards a set of club gates (kindly donated by Mark & Nicola) landscaping around the Jk statue and new fencing. Once completed in the summer this will massively improve the surroundings and show the JK statue in all its glory.

Towards the end of the season there was the passing of the great Johnny King, a true club legend. If in the future Tranmere Rovers can achieve even half of what he did we will at least be back in the league.

Please let me know if there is anything you would like to raise with the club.

Enjoy the Summer.
Ben

John King.

It was with great sadness that we heard of the passing of Johnny King. Not only a legend of the club, we, the Trust board, had worked very closely with John and his family through the fund raising of his statue. Although we new he was very ill, it still came as a massive shock when we heard the sad news. We think that the John King wall, inside the Fan Park will remain a fitting tribute to the great man. As will the statue.

The Euros.

Now that the Trust is successfully running the Fan Park, it has been decided to open the Fan Park for every game of the Euros Tournament. Each game will be shown on the big screen. We will have food supplied by Neo Cafe. As well as the usual availability of top class beers, wines and spirits. We will be looking at having themed beers based around the teams playing that day. It will be great to see as many members and friends at the Fan Park during the tournament. It is our aim to make this THE VENUE to watch the tournament.

The Birkenhead Beer and Cider Festival.

We can confirm that in partnership with Wirral CAMRA and TRFC, this iconic Beer Festival is back in the agenda. It was very successful until unfortunately The Pacific Road venue was closed down. It was after the Trust run event "The Trip to the Moon", that we were approached by CAMRA and it was suggested that the festival become a permanent fixture.
The Festival will take place in The recreation centre (Futsal Centre) at Prenton Park. There will be four sessions over the period 2 - 4th June 2016, tickets are priced from £6-00 and will include a commemorative glass and programme. Tickets are available from Gallaghers Pub & Barbers, Birkenhead, HomeBrew, Oxton Village, The Lazy Landlord, Liscard, The Tap, West Kirby, The Red Fox, Thornton Hough and online through the CAMRA web site www.wirralcamra.co.uk & www.seetickets.com (search Birkenhead Beer and Cider Festival). There will be over 80 beers and ciders on offer. Food will be supplied by Neo Cafe.

We are looking for volunteers who can help out, either setting up the event on Tuesday 30th May & Wednesday 1st June, or to help out during the actual event. If you are willing to put your name forward to help out, please email mark_r@tranmereroverstrust.co.uk

£25,000-00 Investment 2016/2017.

It is the time again when we need to think about how we are going to spend this years £25,000-00 into the football club.
Mark and Nicola have passed this back to us this year. Last summer they had a lot of projects that needed funnding. We as a Trust helped our with funding the Disabled section in the Kop, The Scoreboard, the PA system in the Johnny King Stand and with the Marketing of the Season Tickets. This year, they feel we should come up with suggestions.
This is your money it is really up to you how it is spent.
The board have come up with a couple of ideas. The first is the landscaping around the Johnny King stand. The installation of what will be new club gates, behind the statue, as well as the replacement of the galvanised metal fencing that surrounds the main Directors Car Park. The Trust are committed to carrying out this work, but if some of the funds can be used from the £25,000 it will make it easier to achieve.
The second idea is once again to pay for a "wrap around" in the Wirral News, Wirral Globe or both, to market next seasons, Season Tickets.
One suggestion that was brought up at the AGM was the refurbishment of the toilets at either end of the Main Stand. It is our understanding this refurbishment is going to take place during the summer using club funds.

If anyone has any suggestions as to how all or some of the monies should be spent, please email mark_r@tranmereroverstrust.co.uk. We need to put a two week time frame on any ideas.

Trust AGM 2016.

The Trust held it's yearly AGM in the Fan Park, prior to the Forest Green match.

The full AGM can be seen at http://www.ustream.tv/search?q=tranmere+rovers+trust

There was some criticism over the holding the AGM in a public venue and that the time was too early, we will look to address these issues at next years AGM.

Trust Accounts.

Ernie is finalising this years accounts and as soon as they are finished we will get them sent out to the membership.

500 Club.

Many congratulations to the latest winner of the 500 club.

March 2016 Eddie Crawshaw £505-00.

The membership of the 500 Club has dropped a little in the last couple of months. If you were a member but have cancelled your standing order, we urge you to re-set it up. Remember this is the main fund raising arm of the Trust and that all monies raised go back into the club.

Those that aren't members of the 500 Club, why not join ? It's only £5-00 per month and you could win up to £1,250-00 in the monthly draw.
The easiest way to join is to get the Trust account details off the web site and simply set up a standing order for £5-00 per month to arrive into the Trust on or before 14th of the month.
If you can't set it up online, you can print the standing order form from the web site and post it to Tranmere Rovers Trust, c/o 9 St Stephens Road, Birkenhead. CH42 8PP.

That's it for now. Hopefully see some of you at the Beer Festival or the Fan Park for the Euros. If not have a wonderful summer. We will still be sending out updates through the summer months.

Kind Regards
The Trust Board.
