Tranmere Trust: Update

Update from the Trust Board

Following the very sad news of the passing of long-standing Trust Chairman, Ben Harrison, the Trust board have put into place a number of changes to board responsibilities.

These changes reflect the board’s focus on delivering the new Fan Park (known as Tranmere Garden) within budget and on schedule to open in the autumn. The new Fan Park will be a lasting legacy and tribute to Ben who had the vision and tenacity to bring this project to life.

The following changes have been made with immediate effect:

Rob Jackson appointed Interim Chair.

Rob is the longest serving member of the Trust board and is well qualified to lead the Trust over the coming months.  Rob will liaise with the Club and our partners German Kraft as well as with the building and construction team as we move to complete the development of the new Fan Park.  Rob will also join the board of Tranmere Garden.

Simon Crabtree appointed Interim Vice Chair

Simon has served on the Trust board for a number of years and is currently a nominated Trust Director on the Tranmere Garden* board.  Simon will work closely with Rob and the other Trust board members to ensure the successful delivery of the new Fan Park.

These appointments will remain in place until the next Trust AGM in November when further details will be provided as to the long-term plan for the governance of the Trust and for the Trusts role in managing the new Fan Park via Tranmere Garden as the joint venture entity.

Further Trust updates including the progress and opening information for the new Fan Park will be issued by the board of directors on a regular basis.

*Tranmere Garden is a joint venture between the Trust, Tranmere Rovers FC and German Kraft.
