The Tranmere Rovers Trust and Tranmere Rovers Official Supporters Club are attempting to raise £30,000 in 60 days to go towards the playing squad budget in the second half of the season.
Tranmere Rovers Trust Chairman Ben Harrison said: “The team is currently top of the National League table and on an excellent run of results, but there’s a long way to go and a lot of points to play for. “Anything can happen between now and the end of the season in terms of injuries and suspensions and whilst Mark and Nicola have recently put in additional funds to strengthen Micky’s squad, we want to help the manager to have the resources to go out and strengthen where he sees fit.”
Tranmere Rovers Official Supporters Club Chairman Mark Bartley added: “This is the fans’ chance to get really get behind Micky and the team and do their bit to give them the best chance possible of getting back into the Football League. “We’re all in it together and the fans’ donations could enable the Manager to fund the wages of a player who makes the difference to the Club’s future.”
The Club is backing the campaign which will see all the money raised – should the target be met – go straight into Micky Mellon’s kitty to strengthen the squad.
Tranmere Rovers Chairman Mark Palios commented: “This is a fantastic initiative from the fans and one which has our full backing. “It’s another example of the community spirit shown by Tranmere Rovers supporters. I know that gaining promotion would mean as much to the fans as it would to Nicky and me, the staff and players. The fans’ donations can play a big part in the second half of the season and hopefully they can have a direct impact on the success of the Club.”
Donations can be made in person in the Club Shop or online at http://www.trfcshop.co.uk/30k-in-60-days.html. Should the campaign not reach its target of £30,000 by 11th February 2017, all donations will be refunded.
